Bachelor Pad

Tomorrow Keri and the kids are leaving to visit some friends over in the Dallas area for a few days.  That leaves me home alone with nothing to do except clean the house and work on websites.  So, I need some help:

1)  If anybody is in town and wants to play disc golf Monday or Tuesday evening, let me know.

2)  I need some recommendations on good movies to rent.  I’ve got a couple in mind, but I’m very open to suggestions (I’m also open to company, if any guys want to come watch a movie with me).

Please give a brother some help and post a comment!

  1. Watch “The Life Aquatic.” Notice how every scene in the movie is filmed to give you the idea that the characters belong there and aren’t staged. i.e. Cats have there own beds that look as if they have been sleeping there for years, floors are worn etc. You have probably already seen it and didn’t like it. If you haven’t, then check it out. On another note. I too have been a bachelor for the last week. Eli and Lathan went to San Antonio for her alumni soccer game and to see her fam. I have been getting caught up on all the things that I can’t do when they are here distracting me. Still it sucks being a bachelor. I look a Lathan pics and Mama pics all the time, bother people with forwarded emails, catch up on movies, clean like a maid, fix the car, and eat nothing but cereal cause all you have to do is pour milk on it and you have a meal. Google “two grey hairs disc golf.” It is a place I found in the Northern, green, juicy part of New Mexico that is the best place I have ever played a game of disc golf on in my life. It’s sweet! One of these days I can’t wait to take you and Nate there. Well in the mean time I am going to try to find some time to come and visit you guys. Have fun being a bachelor.

  2. Pursuit of Happyness…I won’t believe you if you tell me you didn’t cry. And I won’t question your manhood when you admit that you did. :)

    Good stuff!

  3. Ben & Bonky’s Mom, thanks for the suggestions. Yes, Ben I’d love to play disc golf with you at that place, and I’ll check out the site.

Lan, yes, I have read “Adam.” Pretty intense, and I liked it. Of all his other writings, it’s probably the most like “Obsessed.”

  4. OK, so here’s a rundown of my evening:

Went to the mall and bought a couple of awesome looking t-shirts and a pair of shorts. I paid a shameful amount of money for the shirts (I don’t even pay this much for button down shirts!). Before I had walked out of the mall, I had already decided to take the shirts back the next day, and by the time I got home, I decided that I didn’t really need the shorts.

On the way home, I rented “I am Legend” and picked up some Taco Bell. Got a little out of my comfort zone and ordered the Spicey Chicken Crunch Wrap (which was pretty amazing, actually). Got home, ate dinner sitting in the middle of our bed, and after a phone call, I started the movie.

Well, I got exactly 11 minutes and 20 seconds into the movie when Ker called to let me know that the Boo had a major allergy attack (cat induced – gotta love those little guys) and was freaking out and unable to go to sleep.

So that’s when I decided to make a trip to Plano to pick up my eldest child. She slept most of the way home, and I was able to subdue her cries for mommie with the promise of Skittles in the morning (I picked those up on the way over just in case they might come in handy – Eagle Scouts are always prepared). We got home about 1:15 am.

So, it looks like the bachelor pad has been crashed, and “I am Legend” will have to wait. Kind of doubt Keri would have much interest in that one.

  5. I’m sorry your “bachelor” time was interrupted, but I’m sure you’ll have wonderful “daddy” time now. I have Adam, I just haven’t read it yet.
