Ten Years

love_ten_years

Keri and I met in High School, about 15 years ago.  We were both Juniors in High School, and I was a bus boy at Abuelo’s Mexican Restaraunt in Lubbock, TX.  A mutual friend decided that we needed to meet each other, so the two of them came to eat one night while I was working.  (Can’t you picture me walking around with my black bus tub and white wash rag?)  We dated for several months, but it wasn’t until the middle of college that we both realized we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.  As soon as I graduated, we were married.

That was January 9, 1999.  Today, Keri and I have been married for ten years.

I really can’t believe how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful spouse! She is my best friend, my encourager, and a wonderful mother to our kids.  God has taught me so much about love, kindness, support, and patience through the example of my wife.

Keri is my dearest treasure, and I am so grateful for these ten years we’ve had together.

I am very fortunate to have two brother in laws that I don’t hate and in fact like very much. Good job Kyle. It has also been great to see what a cool family you guys built and are building. I was telling Ker that when mine came around I gave Sarah a good punch in the shoulder and said “I’m not unfond of you.” I know you will do better than that.

  6. Wow, I remember when it was 5…Congrats, and I never knew you two’s anniversary was only 5 days later than ours. I will always remember now. Love you both.

  7. I have been told that flowers are good gifts for girls. My wife seems to think so. But I know that you probably had that one already taken care of. Thanks for being an awesome brother.

  8. Thanks for all the congratulations! We did have a great evening together (dinner at Abuelo’s, of course), and we will be making a small trip in a few weeks without the kids when Ker’s mom is in town. Really looking forward to that time together.
