All is Not Well

Just got notice that my in-laws, who have been diligently serving Christ overseas in a troubled area, were robbed at gunpoint last night.  They were forced to give over everything of value in their home.  Among many other things, they’ve lost everything electronic in their possession – including my father-in-laws dissertation notes, all of their electronic files, and digital photos.

It’s a shocking reminder that all is not well in the world.

But that will not always be the case:

And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world —from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.  – Matthew 24:30-31 (NLT)

Please join with me in praying for my mother and father-in-law, that God will bring peace, joy, and comfort in this time of adversity.

  1. I will certainly be praying for your in-laws. So sorry to hear about this. My mother was robbed at gunpoint at her workplace a few years back and it was just horrible. Praise God He protected their lifes and the live of my mother- all the other stuff can be replaced.

  2. “..this too shall be made right.” wow…thankful that everyone is alive. I can’t imagine going through something like that.

  3. Thanks, friends! We really appreciate your prayer support. It’s already unsettling to be the only “white” people in the city where they live. Living in “fourth world” conditions doesn’t help either. But having people break into your home and wake you up from your sleep with a gun pointed to your head really makes it challenging.

It’s a sad reminder that many Christians worldwide face similar circumstances each day – some of them giving their lives. People who risk it all for the kingdom like this are my heroes.

  4. Kyle just read about Keri’s parents. We will definitely keep them in our prayers. I am so glad they are alive. God is so good even if the world isn’t.

  5. Kyle and Keri – We were so saddened to hear of Keri’s parent’s ordeal. We will be praying for their peace and comfort in the midst of the situation and even for a miracle that everything will be returned. Blessings and we miss you guys!
